That's normal behavior. ASD relay is enabled for three seconds, fuel pump should prime, and then it all shuts off until the PCM sees the engine cranking. Then it will enable it again, and start doing its usual stuff. If you don't see voltage at the coil while cranking, and the fuel pump isn't running...... crank sensor may be bad. I have no clue how to test that, without actually swapping it out though. Unfortunately, a bad cam sensor can give the same results. What we really need, is a copy of the diagnostics manual.... that might help......

The problem with the crank sensor is that there is really no way to test it without the motor running. Ridiculous I know. The motor has to at least be cranking, similar to testing the cam sensor.

You are disconnecting the neg battery cable when changing any of the sensors right?

You need to disconnect the neg cable when doing anything electrical related. Although minimal , you take the risk of damaging the sensor.
