Very true army, Snaping shafts is no fun haha. Been there. But yes it acts just like a true trac does. I agree sounds like a weak spring. But what you going to do when the company that makes the locker wont take care of yea. The only good to come of this locker is finding out that my truck does pretty darn good with three wheels with traction. Cant wait till i have 4. haha.

I have an idea for you. Buy another one from who ever you chose and pull the one out put new one in send old one back and get your $ back?

Just a though was all.

Yes, thats what detroit suggested. There answer was if it passes there bench test then i just bought two lockers and if it does not pass there test then they will fix it and send it back. So either way im buying two lockers. O and the place i bought it from originaly. 4Wheelparts. Ha they are a joke as well. I called them two weeks ago to see if they would do anything now, and still they tell me its not there problem and they wont help me.

I buy from them when I KNOW I need something in particular. otherwise I go elsewhere. Now that I looked at the exploded diagram, you can order part for part, and the springs are probably uber cheap.

I asked if they would just send me a new one and ill send them mine when i get it. They said no, there company does not do that. I strongly stated that this truck is my competition truck and I pull it every Friday or Saturday. They say that truck pulls are not that expensive so not having my truck for a week or two is not a big deal!?????????????????? That is bull!!!!!!!!!! There is at least a grand up every weekend. Well i told them to expect videos on YouTube and on all forums out there, starting with this one. They told me if I want to, tear apart the locker myself and see if there are any broken parts or weak springs. but don’t give me any specs. I told them i understand my problem is not normal. That even though the locker checks out on there little test they have you run, that under load it IS FAILING!!!! I’m sure if I had a BIG Name or a big sponsored truck on a national circuit then i would be helped. But no don’t help the little guy that buys your stuff every day. So.. keep you eyes open and tomorrow night i am making the video and hope to have it up by next week. I have lost 3 pulls so far this year because of a DETROIT LOCKER coming unlocked under load. I will NEVER buy another product from the DETROIT or EATON company again. p.s. or 4Wheelparts haha. And its not because there products dont work, They do, Its just when they dont, if you dont have a big name they wont go out of there way to help you out. They also said buy a new one, send mine back, and if it passes the bench test well then i just bought two detroits.
ahh there it is...I was gonna chime in that detroit locker has been gone since they were bought by Eaton in 2005 (different management, different company)....I've read many complaints that they dont hold up as well as the old ones....this might be a silly question but you have 32" or smaller wheels right?...I thought thats all they are speced for..unless its some new model.

32s?? I run 17's with 37's. Never have had problems with a detroit till this one, Even on trucks running 46's. Normaly they dont unlock. and yes i think you can just buy the springs. Even though it should be warrenty issue.

Yeah. Im thinking of trying and calling detroit again and see if they will send me some springs. this way my truck is down for a couple hours instead of 2 or 3 weeks to send everything back to them and get it back. Unless my truck wins the pulls this weekend. Then i just might go with a different company. We will see. Im not pulling it a friend is so we'll see.
