I've seen several of the Dakota hemi swaps online and one into a Dakota with a blower on it. There is one hit over at pirate 4x4 that put one in a 94 ram but the thread died before he finished. He was doing a lot of time consuming suspension stuff on top of the hemi swap. Google" hemi swap and more" to see his write up.

After a week of working I got the Gen3 dash into my 97. Hemi is in the truck. I'm waiting for it to cool down outside. Motor mounts are getting measured and fabricated as soon as it drops below 105. Going to throw up some pictures tomorrow.

Pre Yank 5.9 Engine Bay

Post yank Engine Bay

5.9 For sale if any one is interested comes with a leaky 46re ha ha

Hemi going in

Hemi sitting where it will be till I get my Frame mounts fabbed

So Far here is my list to completion

TO DO

1 Fabricate Frame Mounts
2 Fabricate Dash mounts
3 Install Hemi Fuel Pump
4 Wire up Dash
5 Install Radiator AC Cooler and fabricate Mounts
6 Install all components
7 Convert Vacuum CAD to Manual cable CAD
8 Hook up Heater Core

Things I still need to buy
1 TCM
2 ECM Pin Connectors for the two that got broken
3 Stock Hemi intake
4 APPS Setup
5 Remote Oil Filter
6 PWS

If anyone knows of a good place to Get any of these parts I would very much appreciate it.

Things Left to figure out

1 Brake lines (the new vacuum assist doesn't line up with my old lines need to find a place to get flexible lines)

2 Rear drive shaft needs lengthened
3 Front drive shaft need u joint pressed out
4 Wiring on Headlights ,tail lights, Brake lights, turn signals etc
5 Steering shaft extension where to buy

If any one has a fix or any kind of insight for anything please chime in I'm always looking for a better fix.thanks.

Can't you just bend the brake lines to where you need them to be?

For the U-joint, I just support the joint on two blocks of wood, and whack the shaft with a dead blow hammer. Knocks the joints right out. Very easy.

The Fittings are different sizes. I'm kinda worried about kinking a line too.

I hand bend lines on a fairly regular basis. The tool is also rather cheap.

You can get the correct size fittings at any parts store, and just re-flare the end of the line. Probably going to have to do something custom anyway......
