Hemi Swap into a 2nd Generation Ram
Hey DDI~ Don't forget , every time you change something or do anything to you're truck , You have to reset the computer by grounding the pos.(+) to the frame for 30 seconds..
If you don't , there's a chance the computer won't recognize the change and it won't make any difference..Personally ~ I would do that every so often as you go anyway..
I know the words "Starting Over" are as fun as hearing a fat woman fart. BUT I'm starting to think that somehow the wiring harness you used has a wire crossed or going to the wrong place..I could be wrong , there are only two way's to be sure..One ~ Trace every wire starting with C~1 , #1 .... (OR) ~ Take out the complete harness , Plug everything in where each plug goes , Then CUT all the wires going to the truck and PDC .. Manually wire them where they go...That's what I did. If you look at either one of my threads you'll see an *** of wires laying across the motor and marked..
It's the easiest and only way to make sure the wires go where there supposed to without any question..
ALL YOU have to do is find the wires from the PDC and Cab then hook them up..
I don't know if you can bypass the alarm or not , I don't even know if this would be the best thing to do , or the solution "But it is a choice if all else fails"....
I could make a complete wiring harness with PDC ~ TCM and 03' Dash harness , But it would take some time and I couldn't do it free of charge..."AND"~You would still have to wire it into you're truck body..
BTW~ Was the PDC on you're truck the same kind I had in my Dak. ? Different from the 03' style .. The reason I'm asking is ~ When I built my Dakota I had to stay with that PDC , Because of the Internal fuse box..The 03' don't have one , so the same fuses on the inside are also on the out side if you use an 03' PDC...Think about it..

I have seen the stand alone harness computer setup and that is not an option for me right now just too much money. I only paid a grand for the whole truck. If I had to I would just buy another wreck but with keys.
Guy here selling his 04 for parts that was theft recovery thinking about offering him something for the whole thing and part it out make my money back and have a set of keys computer etc that match. I think I might have to upgrade my harness and computer anyway.
I called my buddy with a cherry picker to pull the motor out and do some rewiring. If I can I will bypass the alarm and do something aftermarket like a hidden cutoff switch 6 bucks autozone.
i just reread the entire thing...did you ever try replacing the fcm? i remember reading somewhere that someone hooked the jumper cables up backwards on there hemi and it cooked the fcm and the instrument cluster...they said there scan tool wouldnt communicate with truck because the fcm is what communicates with all the other modules in the truck...kind of sounds similar to what happened to you...i think yours is a combination of the issue of the fcm being damaged and something else...also could be a pdc issue thou because thats where the fcm attaches..if you have both handy for diagnostics thats what id recommend

I sold it but you can find them all day for cheap. Hemi dak let me know what you want for the pdc and what not and I will do that. I think it is the pdc. Nothing else explains the weird way its behaving.
