Had to pay off some medical bills. Hopefully will have a new cam this coming week.I guess I could pull my old cam in the mean time, it is just so dang hot out 108 yesterday that's too hot for this Idaho boy.

I know what you mean, I'm a transplant from Wilder, myself. But I've just about become acclimated after 10 years. I've been working on the road to my homesite and it was 103° Saturday. It was only 98° yesterday, so I hardly worked up a sweat.

Did you decide which cam you're going with ? I think if I had to change mine , it would be something that would give me more pulling power yet not have to do a ton of head work. If you installed aftermarket springs already to handle a bigger cam , I think you're set..
I looked at some cams online yesterday . there seems to be a pretty good selection out there..

I'm thinking finances are dictating that a stock 5.7 cam is the one i'm going with. The high today is 109 so i'm going to try to pull my existing cam but if I get too hot it will have to wait next Saturday its supposed to cool down to 97 so we will see. Hopefully I can have my new can ordered by the middle of next week and be driving by the end of the month.

I would get a set of counter clockwise drill bits , punch a set hole in the center of the bolt and drill it out . Easy out it if the drill bit don't grab it , If that don't work take it to a machine shop , they can get it out. I'm just saying , if your going to use a stock cam anyway , use yours..
HOT AS Shiznuts here too . I didn't even go outside yesterday. Went to feed my pit bulls last night , my Red nose was laying beside the house dead.. No breeze 100+ in the shade .. I Have things to do I hope today it won't be so hot..

That stinks about your dog. My only reason in getting a stock can is because I found one for 115 and the one in my truck is all scored and scattered up from the Dowell pin breaking plus the Dowell pin is welded flush inside its hole so I would have to get it out. Just figured I would save myself the cost of an ready out kit and but a new cam.

Heat didn't kill him , he was ate up with heart worms. We weren't expecting the old boy to make it long. By the time we found out , it was too late. He was 12 years old..
They usually stay in the shop where it's cool on days like these ..
