Default Still no answer?!?!

I am having the EXACT same problem...Yet another spark problem...have spark at coil, but not at plugs. I've seen this question posted in every way, shape, and form, but no positive answer. This truck sat for 2 years, starting once every 6 months or so. I'm getting it back on the road. New battery, some gum out and fresh gas, and she fired right up! Let her warm up, and took it around the block... a little sluggish, but ran pretty good! I pulled it into the driveway to change the oil. As I'm chatting with the neighbor, it just shut off; like someone turned the key off. Now, it will not start! Changed the crank pickup thingy- no good. Cap and rotor look worn, but intact. Great spark at the end of the coil wire at the distributor, but nothing at the plugs. PLEASE any ideas? Did anyone solve this?

Many thanks in advance!

Jack

I would try replacing the camshaft position sensor. It is uner the rotor in the distributor cap.

Nope. Not a sensor problem at all. If you have spark TO the cap, but no spark AFTER the cap..... Replace the cap and rotor.......

And make sure you get the correct rotor (some FLAPS will show more than one). Take old one with you. And make sure it "snaps" down into place. More than one person has crashed a cap and rotor by not having it seated. An brass contacts. Don't get the aluminum ones. They do not last as long or work as well.
