Default Mechanic front end work economy/money inquest

Hey y'all....
I can do a good job at turning wrenches, but I moved a few years ago and don't have a proper place to work like I used to. I also don't have air for my tools anymore. So I have a price question for those who may have a better idea. I want to replace my ball joints, tie rods and center link. Does anyone who works on vehicles have an idea what the labor would be on this? I can buy the parts and do the work at a buddy's house in stages, (his compressor is also down) but I am getting stale with working on vehicles. I got popped blisters and scrapes from doing exhaust yesterday and I gotta jam on the bass guitar tonight.....Feeling more like having some young guy bust it up, if the price is right.

Thanks mates...

Just a wild stab in the dark here.... but, prolly like 4 to 6 hours labor on the joints, another hour to hour and a half on the rest, plus an alignment. Multiply that by whatever going rate is for labor in your area, and it will put you in the ballpark.

Labor on my 96 rear wheel drive here was $190.00.
Neighborhood garage and I think he takes it easy on the old man.
Ball joints only, no alignment.

Best bet?

Call around and get quotes from several shops.

4x4? If so, count on replacing the hubs as well. Seems like no mechanic can get them off without destroying them. I just had ball joints done on my '01 2500 4x4. Set me back $1200. I think it was about $300 for the joints, 500 for the hubs, and $500 for labor. This did include an alignment. I found a great video on YouTube after this work was done showing how to remove the hubs without any damage.

I paid 350.00 labor only a couple years ago at a small shop. All ball-joints,tie rods, pitman arm and all four shocks.

Thanks everyone. I was close in my estimate. I live in a real rural area. We have a Dodge dealership and a few small local shops. We did the ball joints on our friend's Jeep and it was 5 hours give or take. I only fear that his ball joint tool won't handle the truck. The Grand Cherokee's suspension looked like a toy when I saw the equipment as compared my 2WD Ram...she drives smooth and true, no clunks or binds; but I know it will be an up coming repair...dust boots trashed and grease leak...
