Well i have a 01 dodge ram that had the 3.9L v6 that has low oil pressure so i came across i good deal for a dodge durango 5.9L v8 with computer and harness!
Well now that the v6 is out and the v8 is in i came across a problem! The wire harness is way different it only uses 2 plugs on the computer and wont plug into my fuse panel cause the plugs are way different!
So im not sure what to do! "I am not sure if the vehicle was 2 or 4 wheel drive" but i dont see why that would make a big difference! If i get a wire harness out of a dodge ram with a 5.9L v8 is it possible that i could just plug in and go?
My truck is 2 wheel drive with auto trany!

Well im worried if its going to react differently cause the durango's pcm could be programed way diff is what some ppl are saying.

Hope you swapped the transmission, as the 42RE that came with the Ram (V6s only) won't take a whole lot of the power and torque from the V8s. The V8s came with a 46RE.
I have talked to several transmission specialists! they said there is actually no big difference in the 42re and 46re they also said rebuild my 42re with internals that can handle the horse power of the motor would be the best thing to do and cheapest! Not saying you wrong or anything just stating what i was told.
How much is something like that going to cost i know when i talked to a dealer ship they wanted to rape me to flash the computer! 800$ and they said that there not sure if that would fix my problem.

It's worth doing yourself, plus if you are like most of us, you can brag about a new tool. I would go with an aftermarket like Bully Dog or any other "performance" flash. I wouldn't go with factory. Not much to gain there and you can change things up to increase HP and MPGs
So you guys are saying to buy a programmer? "the kind that plugs into the obd right?" how much is that going to cost and what kind should i but>.

What "brand" you buy is up to you but it would be cheaper than going back to the stealership more than once and having them re-flash it. And yes, the programmer plugs into the obd port.
Well thanks for the help ill give that a shot! so basically i buy a tuner plug it in the obd and ill be able to tweak the system to a dodge ram?
