check engine light flashing under load. cylinder #5 misfire

Run your gas tank till it is less then 1/8 full then put 10 oz. of chevron techron fuel system cleaner, the more powerful stuff, I think it is in the 20 oz bottle. That will clean some carbon and other residues, might help with misfire for awhile. Did that on our truck, worked really nice for a bleeding edge solution.

Did that and seafoam too via the bb vac..th CEL hasn't come on for some time now..getting things narrowed down tho...thanks K

What is the DTC it is giving you? Also, have you routed the ignition cables per TSB 18-48-98 http://dodgeram.info/tsb/1998/18-48-98/18-48-98-v8.htm ? If you didn't it might help you.

Yeah, I checked, rechecked and checked again..I'm only pulling 130 on that cylinder so I think that's the cause

Valve trouble.... can try running seafoam thru it, and see if that doesn't help some.

I've gone through two cans over the past two weeks..through the bb, gas and oil..most through the vac line tho and not a drop of smoke..
