Do I have the Off-Road Package?
I just purchased a 2001 ram 1500 sport. I am trying to figure out if this thing has a suspension lift or if maybe its' just the off road package that is giving me the extra height. It was repainted so there isn't any decals or badging that makes it obvious. I've tried a vin decoder but it didn't help much either. I have 17in wheels, tow hooks and a 5.9L. it rides very stiff, which makes me think it's an aftermarket lift, but i was hoping someone on here could give me some pointers on other places to look to find out. I am a converted GM guy, this is my first ram so I am still learning....
It says 4.10 on the sticker on the axle tube. It has rancho 5000's on it and what appears to be spacer blocks on the top of the axle tube under the leaf, but maybe that's part of the off road suspension components or just a dodge thing
Off Road package was approximately 1.5" to 2" higher than "normal" Rams, had 4.10 gears, had a factory LSD in the rear axle, and 17" wheels. Every other Ram had 16" wheels.

Oh, dont Off Road editions come with more skid plates than normal rams? I think so, I think I read that somewhere
Yes my rims look just like that, I'm going to assume at least for now that I have an off road edition. the next thing to determine is if i have a stock suspension or if there has been a small lift kit installed.
