Default PCV valve delete

After replacing my plenum, I have really been thinking about the PCV valve system. I don't want the oil going back into the intake. While my pan did seem to be leaking, I do feel that a good amount was also pulled through the PCV line so I would like to fix that. Does anyone see a problem with using two breathers (one on each valve cover) to vent the crank case. Both sides would be free to vent, just not under vacuum. If you don't see a problem with that, what about just one breather cap then for the whole system? I've seen older style valve covers that don't have any holes on the passenger side. Would it be wrong to cap the one side, and put a breather on the other side?

No. It isn't.

You could put a filter on the line though.... I have seen some folks do that.

I hear you can get a Husky brand air compressor filter at Home Depot and plug it in the PCV line, you just have to empty the trapped oil once a week or every 2 weeks.

Once or twice a week is no big deal for me. In fact i'd rather do that then burn it or let it sit in the intake. Funny you should mention about the husky... look what I ended up with (close enough) lol.

I ran back to autozone to return my breather cap and picked up some 3/8" hose. swung by lowes on my way home and picked it up. Hopefully she will do the trick If not, pretty cool sitting there lol. Time will tell....

If you had excessive blowby, it was due to a faulty PCV Valve.

I've run a catch can and in 3 months it never picked up even a teaspoon of oil.

Looking great Pcfixerpro, I think I may have a faulty PCV valve then.

Cheap and easy fix guys. $7.xx something from the $tealership, and thats what's recommended I guess. Something about the ones at the auto parts stores being "universal" and don't work as well.
