better to watch your buddy do it than pay a mechanic...

 

Well, I would say it's better to actually HELP your buddy! Unless of course money is no object.

 

I like the spark plug socket that is magnetic.

The rubber boot in the standard socket tends to stick the plug sometimes and pull out of the socket.

I highly doubt the plugs are causing the noise you hear unless one has failed.

 

what would be causing the click, my rings ? my idle is crappy also, i wanted to do tps and map but i really just dont want to be buying parts

 

I'd guess by what you described in the other thread an exhaust leak.

It could be a plug, but I'd just buy one NGK and pull them all and inspect em. If you have one broken one, replace it, if not return the plug.

Those iridiums are good plugs and will run just as good if not better than the champions. And you don't need a colder plug until you make about 100 HP over stock. Too cold and it'll just foul more quickly.

 

A bad injector can click loudly too.

 

Has the plenum been repaired?
Check engine light on? If so, what codes?
Have you rerouted your spark plug wires?

If you don't have tools. I recommond getting a small craftsman tool set. Sears will usually have some on sale every now and then. Can get a nice set for under $150

 

i have a 84 peice set craftsman .

plenum is good last time i checked
no engine light just bad idle and click when accelerating

Might be a plug wire arcing too...... they make a rather interesting noise.

 

whats wire arcing ?
