OLYELR i thought about the torque, but figured its on its way out anyways, so F -it.......does $270 labor sound about right to intall the detroit trutrac, (just labor) and another $500 for the detroit? he wanted bearings, clutch pack replace for about , basicaly rebuild the junk i got now for around 500.. not going the rebuild route i'll tell you that much....and the covers not dented either.
I'm bummed. I was hoping you'd say you found some Gummy Bears or the like in your differential, because if you had, I was going to remove the cover from mine to see if it had the same.
Oh well.
You were hoping to find Gummy Bears in your rear end? And eat 'em if you found some?
Hey, ya just never know...... Ol' VW there, he scraps out perfectly good Volkswagen parts that the world is just crying for. Removes them from the market permanently. Never know just what he might be capable of......
LOL. I'm going to miss a lot of this tonite, because my fake freakin leg is killing me and I'm going to call it a nite! LOL But I can't wait until the AM.
I dont see this mentioned anywhere so I'm going to throw it out there..... You could always do what I did and just have the LSD rebuilt....I got the clutchpack/rebiult kit for under $200 and while they installed that at the garage I had them tear down my rear diff and replace a worn noisy pinion bearing (Actually they installed all the bearings that came with the master install kit and made sure the 4.56 gears were set right since I dont know who installed them). anyway labor for all this came to about $400 if I remember right....
