Also in other vehicles having timing thats off can result in having said vehicle run hot. But since our timing is controlled by our computer i figured I had retarded timing making my engine run hot (230). I also thought a programmer would take care of these problems.

I guess we might be thinkin that a new thread produces activity and answers.
WILL MAINTAIN ALSO.

Anytime anyone posts in a thread, it gets moved to the top of the list on the main page (its the default sort method). Anyone worth discussing problems with will know that, and will read the thread.

Creating a separate thread actually does the opposite of "activity" and "answers". It annoys the people here that know the most, and annoying the knowledgeable guys is the last thing you want to do. No one wants to have to go through five threads (or however many) to find the original problem thread, and four updates. Its much easier to read (as well as keep the place organized) when its all in one thread.

The timing retardation caused by the "death flash" is not enough to cause heating issues with these trucks, otherwise we'd be hearing about that relationship all the time here. If the timing has been retarded enough to cause the truck to overheat, something worse than the "death flash" is wrong with your truck.

What all exactly did you replace in your engine rebuild?

No bother at all, thats what a forum is for, bouncing ideas around and solving problems.

Let us know what happens after you replace the radiator, if the cooling problem goes away or not.
