Guess I will jump in here because this is along the lines of something I was curious about. My truck is a 01 ORE with the 4.10 gears. I noticed on the build sheet that it came stock with 17" rims but the PO changed them over to 16" rims. The tires/rims just look kinda puny on there and would like to go back up to the 17" rims and/or bigger tires. (When I can afford it, gotta do some tranny work first) I guess my question is this: what works best with the ORE with the 4.10 gears? I pretty much use my truck as a work truck/ daily driver. Small amount of towing(nothing major) and a wee bit of 4 wheelin(once again, nothing major) but other than that just looking for a good size tire for general use. What are advantages/disadvantages of going back to 17" rims and what would be the best tire size for both the 16" and 17" rim?

You can put 33's on there without too much issue. With another 3" of lift, you could go 35's...... you would notice a loss of power though with the larger tires. (more so with the 35's....)

Thanks for the info HeyYou. I would say 33's would be the biggest I would go. Another quick question, do the ORE trucks have a hair of stock lift as compared to others? Mine seems to sit just a hair higher than some of the others.

Yep they sure do. I think it's like 2" or so. As far as the previous discussion on load range, the c's are lighter and unless youre overloading your truck should be fine. My 35's are C's and i've towed quit a bit with no problems.

The load range does not directly correspond to load capacity. The load range and the width of the tire must be considered. For instance, a 235/75-16 load range E tire will have no more capacity than a 285/75-16 load range D tire.

15's may not fit. Might interfere with the tie rod ends.

That said, with no lift at all, 33's are going to be pushing it, and they will likely rub at full lock.
