Long story short. leave doors open, battery goes dead enough to not start truck, jump truck with cables, won't idle. runs if you keep your foot on the gas. have had a charger on for the last 3 hours. ECM/ECU have to relearn or something??thx deadeye
Thx ZMAN. Any special way to relearn or just drive as normal? Went around alot of blocks and stops. Died 3 times at stops. Fortunately at one there wasn't anybody there. deadeye.

if the battery is fully charged now, you can reset the pcm to speed up the learning process. disconnect neg battery cable and turn on headlights for 30 sec to drain the pcm memory. if that doesn't help, your battery voltage is still low.
Thx all, short road trip with stops and all is well. Next post I'll try and use the correct terminology. Now how to set the clock on the Pioneer radio?

Same thing happened to my 97 while on a trip, a young chrysler tech in Duluth told me I had to teach the PCM to idle. Told me to hold the accelerator pedal just enough to prevent stall. Took about a minute, then all was well.

AMAZING - I can not believe how well this worked for me!! My truck runs better than before the stalling nonsense all started. Thank You !!!Originally Posted by dhvaughan
