depends on the scanner...is it a snap-on scanner? they will pull tranny codes...the one from mac tools wont, and the autozone type scanners wont scan trannys as well...so it depends on the scanner.

Its very simple to do the gov pressure solenoid and transducer....drop the pan, cant remember if you have to take the filter off (might as well replace it), take a couple bolts out and disconnect electrical and swap the new parts in.

3rd to 4th, 4th to 3rd is usually the TC lock up and OD solenoids. And if the wires are frayed it can cause the rpm jumps.

Sorry about some confusion on my part, I got this thread mixed up with 2 other tranny threads!

Overdrive solenoid and such require the removal of the valve body, do they not? Sounds like a good time for the Sonnax Sure cure as well........

Or, I am full of ...... something.

Hey Zman17. Where would I check for those wires to see if they are good? Also what is the chance that the output sensor is bad? And the OBD II reader I'm using is an Innova 3100 C. Thanks for everyone's help!

Yes, removal of valve body to make it easier, not the overdrive assembly as suggested by some one.

I gave you a link earlier in this thread that you apparently did not read, about the wires. Output speed sensor bad, will give symptoms youu have not mentioned(so I don't think it's bad). And that scanner you have will not work for the trans codes. Have you tried the key trick?
