will these coils provide any lift (both trucks are 2wd)...i was going to put 1 ton coils on my 1500 i am looking for a cheap lift kit for it and well i heard through the rumor mill these would give me around 3 inches of lift but i figured i would check with you guys first before wasteing money

i dont think the 2wd 1500 comes with front coils, it has independent front suspension, and only has control arms....

i replaced the shocks on my buddies 96 1500 2wd, and theres no coils in the front.



but if i remember correctly, deisel coils add 4in. of lift.

2wd has coils as well. Gotta have something under there to hold up the truck.

I know the swap works on 4x4's, but, no clue if you can do the same stunt on 2by's.... I would think so, but, don't quote me on that.

yeah i know it has coils i saw them a few times...i would assume it would work i might just have to b the first to try it

3500 4x2's have a straight axle, everything is identical to a 4x4, at least all of them i have seen but i supose the older 2nd gens might not have been that way but i havent seen them

they are in there, just hidden between the control arms

OK for one there is no way that your buddies 2wd does not have coils wtf is holding the front of the truck up, and dont say shocks they are not designed or strong enough to, and if you look at pretty much any truck they all have coils 2wd or 4x4.

That said I also heard that all the 3500 2wd are straight front axles but not sure on it, someone else was talking about 2500 diesel coils not sure if they ever did it though, only way to find out is to try, If the 3500 is independent I dont see why it wont work it will just be a little stiff, if it is a SFA I think your gonna have problems

i think what you are referring to is called a torsion bar suspension the dakotas used this along with the durangos they do not have coils they use torsion bars and keys to suspend the front of the truck

thank mans that should work for sure and only 10 bucks more than what i was gonna spend for the 3500 coils from a boneyard
