truck shakes when it shifts into OD(4th) and more NEWBIE questions
#62
I did check the codes for the check engine light and got 27 and 37. Based off the key test and blinking. I know the faults (Internet is awesome) but not sure the fixes. 27 is injector circuit and 37 is torque converter solinoid or temp sensor. A few "mechanic" friends think I need to replace my TC and that should fix problem.
As far as the plenum I know I will need to change eventually, if not already blown, but time is crucial. I've casually asked some local shops and they don't even know what a plenum is?!? So I can't let them do the job. I've seen a couple of Vids on YouTube and looks fairly simple.
I should be able to complete in a weekend right??

Barring unforeseen circumstances, and the river don't rise, (and bolts don't break...) a weekend will be adequate to the task.
My truck was giving me the TCC code as well when it was misfiring badly. Once the plenum was fixed, and the tuneup done, I haven't seen that code since. I think when you have a running problem, which becomes VERY apparent when TCC locks, the computer misinterprets that as TCC failure.
Fix the running problems first. (plenum, Injector circuit code...) Reset the PCM, see what codes come back. If you see them again, THEN start considering what needs to be done about it.
