4.56 gears are in, starter died. New starter in, no oil pressure. Oil pan dropped, looks like fragged oil pump gears. Gears on order. Super frustrated with this truck. It turned from a $1250 truck to a 12,500 truck in only one year. I'm so deep into it, I can't just give up... as much as I just want to light the match.

Yea, I need a month or so to recoop from this disaster truck LOL. But, tow mirrors are in the plans. I thought about lighting the truck on fire many times today.

Replace the entire oil pump, not just the gears please. The local neighborhood parts store should have them on the shelf..... I would also have a long hard look at the pump drive shaft. You be bummed if you put a pump in there, then the shaft broke, and munched up the engine.

It's a V10... can't buy a whole pump. I bought a new rear cover and gears.

A pat on the back for getting the beast this far. How many miles where on it when you started? Just curious. Probably not many since it was in NYC, but it doesn't take too many NYC miles to wear out any vehicle.

I picked it up from Long Island... about 30 minutes outside of the city. No clue if that's where it spent it's whole life, but by the amount of rust we found, I'd venture to guess it did. I think it has close to 160k?

Damn $12500! That sucks and with it being a v10 you will never get that back out of it, if it had a cummins you could probably get what you have invested in it.

With that being said your only option is to keep going and finish it,
Im in the same spot with my truck, I have $9700 invested into a $3500 truck!
