My 96 ram runs good , but i noticed that it never starts on the first attempt . Yes I have changed the plugs and wires...is this a typical issues wth year / model truck . I turn the key the first time it just turns over , reattempt it the second time it starts right up ....any ideas if this is normal or if not ,what it might be
Fuel pressure regulator on fuel pump is most likely no good. Get a fuel pressure tester. Connect it to the service port on the fuel rail. Start the motor and see what the pressure is. Turn motor off and see how long it holds pressure.
Zman , that sounds like a plausible idea . I will give it a try . If I do get poors readings after running the test , where might I find the fuel pressure regulator? Is it a part of the fuel pump and i just replace the pump or is it a seperated unit ?
