Default Highbeams indicator on my dash always on?

HIGHBEAM light on my cluster is always ON, weather the truck is ON or OFF, but once I turn my headlights on, then the HIGHBEAM light goes away and my high beams do NOT stay on, the lever switch doesnt click over. I know I need a new switch since the wipers also only work on HIGH, but does the highbeam light on my cluster have anything to do with the switch?

i suspect you have a short either inside the multifunction switch, or in the HUGE wad of wires in the column at the tilt point. since the low/high lever doesn't click, i bet its the switch that's broken. when you replace your multifunction switch, you'll be able to see the wires and operate the truck w/o the covers on. this will enable you to debug it.

when i switched my gauge cluster over to one with a tach out of a durango the high beam light was always on untill i turn the low beams on.
i suspected it was some kind of day-time running lights thing on the durango. my fix was removing the cluster and pulling the bulb. no more light!
i wish i could find out why it stayed on but not really worried.

Well I fixed all my electrical gremlins, including Joint connector #5, and a new Wiper Stalk, Both had shorts, it FIXED ALL my eletrical issues which I had a ton of things NOT work, but STILL the HIGHBEAM indicator is the ONLY thing that still shows on the cluster,

Check the headlight wiring itself. Make sure the correct bulbs are lit for the switch position.

Have you changed out your headlights at all?

did you accidentally get a 9007 bulb for a 9004 one? they are not interchangeable and may have caused that.

Do you have aftermarket headlight housings?

yes, I have the aftermarket headlight housing but this problem occurred before this, I have the SPORT, with the (2) Beams, the outer bigger one is for LOW-BEAMS and the smaller inner was is for HI-BEAMS, correct? Now these are my symptoms,

When I turn the headlights on(low-beam) both are on, (HI-BEAM indicator on my instrument cluster says its ON), but when I click the stalk back, the HI-BEAMS become a tad brighter and still the HI-BEAM light on the cluster is ON???

Did you check out/replace your headlamp switch? A damaged one of those can cause weird issues.

Like aims4squirrels said, if you accidentally installed a 9007 bulb into a 9004 harness, that would cause weird issues like this. The outer (low beams) are for 9007s, and the inner high beams are for 9004s.

Which aftermarket units did you purchase?

well the headlight housing wouldnt matter, its just the housing, not sure... ill look it up tomorrow and check those bulbs, thanks.... Also, should the LOW BEAMS ONLY be on the OUTER and absolutely NO LIGHT should be coming out of the INNER (where the HI-BEAMS) are if I JUST have the LO-BEAMS on, correct?

Yep. If the low beams are on, the highbeams shouldn't be on at all.
