Yes I see the connectors. I have removed the small plug, and can see what appears to be a locking piece to the larger plug on the top, and it would be pulled in direction of door jam when unplugged. But the wires leading away from that connector are very short and feels attached to inside sidewall, so I am not able to pull the switch out far enough to get my hand around the connector.

That is why I was wondering if I removed the bottom panel I could maybe stick one hand up the inside to grip the connector to unplug it. I don't understand why the wires are so short that I cannot pull the switch further out to disconnect the large plug?

 

Replacing the headlight switch is a very easy task, so the only thing I can think of is, maybe, when the remote start and or alarm was installed, they put a tie wrap on the harness when they made the connections. So removing the lower panel and having a look is a good idea.

 

I thought this should be easy too. The service manual's illustration and youtube videos make it seem like the switch should come free at least a couple inches from housing mount to get your hand directly on connector to unplug.

At this point, it will have to wait for the morning.

Update: I removed the bottom dash panel. No problems there. Whew. I can see a relay spliced into wires to the left of steering column. Above that is a steel plate blocking my view/access to the switch from below.

So I went back to trying to figure out why the wires are stuck and cannot pull switch out. I think they are stuck (melted/frozen) to the inside of the corner of the upper dash panel. Um... damn... I have no idea if I cracked his dash or roomie did when we were trying to get switch out yesterday. But I only noticed it this morning when giving a little tug on the switch to see where resistance is coming from, and I noticed the cracked piece in corner move.

UPDATE: Sent my buddy pics of the dash & switch. He told me dash not cracked. The little piece of dash that is moving is separate from the main dash panel. Whew! But he thinks wiring may be hung up on dash and that is why I cannot get switch out far enough to unplug.

Should I try to remove the steel plate to continue attempting access from below.... or do I have to attempt removal of dash??

 

Can you snake your hand up in there, and touch the harness? Maybe find what it is hanging up on?
