Default Bad Rear U-joint?

ok Ol' Blue developed a sqeeking noise the other day. Sound gets louder and faster the faster you go. Its definatly comming from the rear. I had my buddy stand outside and listen....he said it sounds like pass. rear tire area

Checked rear breaks and they are fine, as the sound DOES NOT change when hitting the brakes.

It does sound like the wear pin on a brake pad hitting the rotor, but all brakes have less than 5K on them. and ive checked alls good with brakes.

I had the rear driveshaft out a month ago due to my T-case replacement. I checked u-joints, and none of them had any sign of binding.

Checked rear ujoint with a prybar, and theres no play whatsoever.

Rear diff fluid has been changed, and nothing out of the ordinary on the magnet.

This sqeek is really annoying me....please help me out
thanks

Sometimes the only good way to check a joint out is to completely pull the shaft so the joint can be cycled. While there might not yet be any slop in it, it may be really tight and bound up (dry) causing squeaks.

+1
Mine had a nice little squeak to it at low speeds and when I pulled the drive shaft I could see why.
Two caps on one of the u-joints were cracked and about all of them were dry and rusty. There was a brown powder where the needle bearings used to be in a couple of the caps.
I broke a 9" c-clamp and a 6" vise trying to get them out because they were really stuck in there. An arbor press is what finally got them out.
So yeah, no play at all because they were really locked up.

ok now The truck is my only vehicle, and after driving today, its getting louder.....theres nothing wrong with the u-joint that i can find.

and another type of sound is mixed in there as well. and by all means i cannot explain it....its a whistle that happenes like every 5 seconds.....

truck drives excellent, no power loss or anything, no clunks on hard take offs......

yup sound only happens when in motion.....was moving at slow speeds, shifted to neutral, still had same sound, revved up, still had same sound, then when i increased speed is when the noise changes.

If i have a second after work, im taking it to my buddies garage so he can throw it on the lift.

I have my 4x4 boot up, and listened, and it sounds like its comming from the T-Case....even though i just replaced it........of course when i sell my other vehicle this has to happen...might be about time to give up the Ol' Dodge.

the sound sounds like the metal pin wearing on a rotor....which it isnt the brakes.....with an added whistle sound that happenes every so often...whistle sound is not consistant....the sqeeking noise is consistant, but it takes longer than a tire rotation for it to sqeek, its like 2 rotations of the tire it will sqeek....
