If that's the only coolant temp sensor you have, then it is also the one that gives the PCM coolant temp readings, which it uses for several purposes. If you have 2 temps sensors, then that is probably the dash gauge one.

Yup...water temp sensor...You're gonna hate yourself when you see how expensive those are...But the PCM is gonna need to see one.

From the looks of that heater hose, you're going to need to replace it also. That big buldge above the nipple is an accident just waiting to happen.

I did the same thing in my install. It was 15 dollars at autozone for a drualast one. No problems, however, it looks like my coolant temp is pretty low (but then again, i changed the thermostat to a 180*).

Or you can get a better quality one from rockauto.com. Autozone, 14.99. Easy fix.

Hughesengines.com sells a MSD brand one for 15 bucks as well.

No biggie, a handfull of us who did our plenums broke ours. And almost 90% of us replaced it when doing the plenum anyway. I broke mine when i was using some channel locks to open my hose clamp. it was lmost like i didn't see the darn thing.

Yep. That's the temp sensor. I broke mine too when fixing the plenum.
