Default Transmission issues, same as last year

Hello everyone!

Last year I was having some transmission issues with my 2001. I posted in Monte's Transmission Corner, and he recommend three things. 1) Adjust the throttle valve cable 2) Replace the throttle position sensor 3) replace the governor pressure sensor solenoid. I did 1 and 2 with no luck. Only after did I replace the governor pressure solenoid (and the governor pressure sensor just to be safe), did it work fine again.

Well, that was in April of 2010. Recently, I was trying to adjust the throttle valve cable, to get earlier shifts. It was going fine, until the other day I went to pass a car, and now the symptoms have returned all over again. It acts like it gets stuck in gear, and won't shift up when it needs to. I put the throttle valve cable back in to the original position, but it still is acting bad. Did I screw up the governor pressure solenoid??

I'll drop the pan and do it all over again, but I just wanted to get a second opinion first. Is it that easy to break the solenoid?

Thank you!!!

I don't think so, but I don't know for sure. I ordered them both from transmissionpartsusa dot com. Here is the solenoid and the sensor.

Its possible that the pressure control solenoid just gets dirty, and then doesn't function quite as well as it should. The GM system, with a self-cleaning pressure control solenoid, is actually a superior system. Wittrans has conversion kits for the dodge transmissions, for just such an occasion.

Awesome! Think you could post a link or the part number? I am at their website, but I don't see it. I found S22167A Valve Body Kit, A518/A618 Gas/Diesel 1999-03 (Superior). Is that it?
