Probably with the seal, so, maybe bump that to like 17 minimum.... and without diff installed.

Did you oil up the bearings before sticking it all in there?

If you are just setting pinion depth.... Is the crush sleeve really necessary?? (not sure on this one myself.)

I need some help with this….

I have it all back together and set the backlash at .007.. I put the marking paint on to see how the contact looks.. The picture below shows the contact.. You can see a line towards the bottom of the gear.. It runs almost the entire width of the tooth.. I put drag on the pinion while I was spinning the differential..

Are these new gears? Or the originals?

If you don't have the 01 service manual yet, grab it. I think it has pretty pictures of what pattern you want on the gears with the marking compound.

I really can't tell from the pics just what sort of pattern you are a getting, but, my eyes aren't exactly the best either.

I'm by far any kind of expert on R&P installation, but that doesn't look right. http://www.drivetrain.com/parts_cata...tructions.html

Really hard to see anything in the pics, pinion looks too deep though. Got any pics of the drive side?
