2001 Ram 1500 2WD, I have 4 wheel ABS and the ABS and Parking brake lights came on recently, but did not remain on after restarting the truck. Last night they came on again and have not gone out. It seems that this system is only giving me trouble when it's very cold outside, both times this happened it was approx -30C. Is it possible that ambient temperature is causing this system to throw a code? Can I just leave it until spring (when it's warmer!) and replace the sensor on top of the rear diff, or can I just "disarm" the ABS system and get rid of the damn lights on the dash! LOL
Mine was on a while back, but after putting the 2nd sensor in and the light came back on, I just took the lights out of the dash for the abs and parking brake. Does that speed sensor control the shift points?
it really is only a ten min job to change that sensor at the most, I did it last week after putting it off forever, the part is about 20-30$ at your parts store and once I changed it the lights were gone and my speedometer started working under 25MPH again.
Well everything else on my truck appears uneffected by the ABS and Parking Brake lights being on, but it sure is driving me nuts! LOL The sensor that you changed in 10 mins, is that the one mounted on the rear differential? Remember, mine is 2wd with 4 wheel ABS. Thanks guys,

Mine is also 2wd with 4w/abs and yes that sensor took care of it, one bolt holding it in and a connector and it was done, right on top of the pumpkin on the rear axle.
Finally got the sensor today from NAPA. Do I need to clear the ABS Code before installing the new ABS Sensor on the rear diff? Or will it clear itself when I install the new one? Does it even matter?
