Trans ???
Hi guys. So I thought 5th gear was out on my truck. I took it to the mechanic and ge said the truck only has 4 gears??? Really? A big truck like this. It's a 96 2500 5.9. Anyone else heard of this?
Erm..... what does the shift **** say? I wasn't aware that the 2nd gens came with any other trans than the 5 speed.......
Can you stir the trans to where fifth gear SHOULD be?? I suppose it is possible that the trans was swapped out at some point......

No doesn't over heat. Truck runs great. The shift **** is a after market one. When I got it, I thought fifth was out so assumed it needed replaced. The reason why I thought is because when you go to put it where fifth normally is it acts as if you are putting it in N
