gas mileage update

looking at that chart i would say the WINTER GAS around your area is pretty diluted and that running your heater took away a couple mpgs, while the warmer months have a consistent reading maybe from running at optimal operating temperature?

Thankfully I only buy gas for it every 12-14 days! i drive my HHR at night and on weekends.

Yeah, the winter gas does seem to tend to be about 0.5-1mpg (3.5-7%) lower than the summer gas, but when you consider that I'm running the a/c in the summer, it may in fact be an even bigger difference. I would think that the cooler temperatures have a small effect since I live in AZ, and it usually doesn't get below 40* at night during the winter.

I just drove from buffalo to Jersey with a open car trailer (1400lbs) with a 3600lb car, 2 other passengers (430lbs), and a bed full of car parts ( 250lbs ). Got 7.5 mpg!!!!! And now my trans is making noise and slipping.

Coming back with an empty trailer got 14mpg. lol. The hills killed my lil 5.2.

- 2001 Ram 1500 4x4 Off Road completely stock on 285 75 17s with 135K miles
