freaking Autotrader doesn't like hot links, I couldn't grab the image URLs either.
Basically you can get 1999 four door quad cab 4x4s all day in Florida for less than $5k..
They had singles for cheaper. High mileage.
Though if you could find a badly wrecked Ram 4x4 you could do the swap.
You would need a donor truck.
Check out autotrader.com and search the truck you want and click on advanced options select drivetrain and select 4wd.
Sorry links didn't work..

You could put a locker in the rear, re-arc the springs, taller than stock off road tires, and find a long arm suspension kit for the front as well as fiberglass front fenders to go with a pre-runner style truck. If your not running in deep mud or crawling nasty rock trails, living in florida, you'd do fine and have a unique looking truck to boot.

Paid 3500 for my truck off craigslist and this is what it looked like all it needed was the a headlight switch and the steering center link. It had 36x12.50x16.5 military tires, fender flairs, pace setter headers, 5.9l, automatic and power everything. the onbly things i had done to it in this pic was give it a bath and paint the grill, front bumper, and back bumper black.

I would be alittle worried about a v6 in a full size truck. Straight would be okay, but not a v6. I agree with most of these guys, just buy a 4x4. A buddy spend $8,500 4x4ing a passenger van, but he needed to haul a trailer and 7 people around. No reason to do that to a full size truck with a v6
