Now my only concern is, are all the tone rings the same? I am replacing my stock open carrier with a posi carrier from a 95 Ram 1500. Are you talking about the tone ring on the carrier? Or am i lost here?

Thanks

Yes, they should be the same. But, the tone ring can be removed from the old carrier by removing the ring gear.

Speedometer will be affected by tires, it will not be affected by gear swap, on your year of truck.

if he found a 4.10 thick gear set he wouldn't have to change the carrier
