i'll try to get it pulled today and try to get back to you tomorrow with my findings. gotta work on my mothers car now it went down yesterday so bare with me lol. seems vehicles go break down in pairs and always when the timing is most damaging and hurtfull

 

first off thank you very much hey you for all the help.

ok as luck would have it i pulled the one off the cherokee and of coarse the harness was different, i tested it anyway just to compare results and i actually got a reading from the center pin and one of the others (note it didn't change when passing something metal in front of it), so i went out and picked up a new sensor for my truck, checked to see that i got reading on testing it before i installed it (didn't want any dissapointment lol) installed it, and it fired right up, so finnaly got to finish filling my tranny fluid and got to take it for a drive, and hooraa !!!!! tranny problems solved (i always get nervouse on reassembeling trannies and stuff, you never know what just might not have went right no matter how many times you checked it or tried to do everythig to spec and correctly)

lol well i don't know about the carefull part, but i will enjoy, as soon as i replace the water pump, after taking it for a drive i noticed under medium to heavy throttle the temp would raise siggnificantly, so i tested the thermostat, and fan clutch and those were fine, so it lead me to believe it's the pump, mainly due to the bottom radiator hose doesn't get hot, i let it idle for about a half an hour so it was nice and warm and the bottom hose was just barely warm, so im thinking it's not circulating the coolant with the pump, just by pressure fron the coolants hight temterature.

just one question, what do most rams like mine run in the coolant temp range?

 

What degree stat do you have? If its a 195* than thats the area of temp. If 180* then around 180*.

 

it's a 195 but it gets to about 210 and then drops, i was told by some people that their trucks run about the same, in my opinion thats to hot for my liking, so im repplacing it today, as i think the stat isn't opening up all the way or not opening soon enough

 

I know I have a 192* and the needle just barely touches the bottom left corner of the 2 on 210.

 

sorry, ben a while, yea i replaced the thermostat and the water pump since the bottom hose wasn't getting hot...at all, and it still runs the same, so im just assuming it runs at that temp, i have driven it over 150 miles now and it hasnt over heated on me and i know nothing is clogged, i flushed it out about a dozen times durring my search for a cooler running temp. so all is well, for now anyways
