ok so had to go get a load of dirt today ( actually 2 loads) well the first load was 5.5 cubic yard i think. all i know is it weighed out to 4950 pound of dirt which i thought was alot more than my truck could handle...it drove ok the front you could tell was a little loose but the back squatted pretty hard....my question is what is payload on the 94 half tons? also i plan on loseing the blocks and getting the A.A.L. for the little higher payload. i tend to put alot of dirt/ rock in my truck. prolly bout once a month. would the aal help much. this is a pic of my rig in backing up to the garden pits... well 6 days of rain and the fact there was a old house there that never got filled in...i kinda sunk but the interco's sunk in and pulled me out

sad thing is i didnt spin at all i just sunk that much lol

 

Erm... its a "half ton" truck.... so, 1000 pounds.

I put over 5000 in my 3/4 ton......

GVW is on a label inside the drivers door frame. Gives max weight per axle. Which I suspect you exceeded.....

 

i know the maximum my 81 can weight when fully loaded is between 6000-7000#. i would hate to see the ticket you would get if you got caught hauling 5000#.

 

That looks more like 2 yards of dirt at most. You were probably closer to 2000lbs than 5000.

 

i know i was a little over the limit i know for a fact it was 4950lbs of dirt...i had to hit the scales before i left ( just out of curosity.) i went in it said 4980 left it was at 9931...she did ok didnt sway to bad i just wish it wouldnt squat so bad...i know it was heavy stuff the 6 days of rain and snow melt everything is heavy... it sucked shoveling out this crap... let me go look at my sticker gvwr says 6400 lbs oopps ...glad johnny lay didnt get me...just glad i didnt break anything...to be honest i am happy and proud of my old truck she did good

 

We had a bad yard flood one year (due to fast melting snow) and decided to go buy a large tarp and fit it to the bed of my truck, got the good ol gas semi trash pump out and hauled away 3 full beds of water to a ditch and drained it, That was a load...i bet if someone was so stand hard enough on the gas she would have wheelied...lol...i know that was way way over payload cause there was NO suspension left in the back, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do to keep the house from flooding. (I purchased ALOT of 3 1/2" hose for the next year so I could just pump it all the way to a safe spot)

 

That's actually a pretty sad squat pic of your truck (yeah i know its 2wd), even though your proud of it with a couple wheel barrels full of dirt, doesnt do your truck justice at all sorry not a hater but telling it how it is.

 

we once filled my granpas '93 f350 a good deal ABOVE the bed sides with fill sand. i dont know how much it weighed but it was damp so it had to be ATLEAST a sh*t ton

 

not sure how much my 96 3/4 ton 4x4 weighs but I ran it onto the scales with a load of firewood on it 36 in. racks and the scale read 12350

 

you keep doing that and those springs are gunna stay flat....

i broke a shackle once, and it sent the leaf into the bottom of the bed....by some luckiness it happened as i turned into the dealer....was going to get a diff. part, but had to get shackles instead...

anyways, i had to drive it home like that (nothing except my toolbox was in the bed so there really wasnt weight on it.) well i replaced the shackle, and the spring had flattened some....When i bought the truck there was NO sag....

Now theres a 2 1/4 inch difference between the pass. side and drivers.....still driving like that....and it sucks, cuz i can feel the lop-sided-ness when i sit in it.....

So get the add a leaf quick, or make sure that doesnt stay in your truck to long....

My leaf was up into the bed for about 3 hours, and that was enough to take the arc out of it.
