WTF battery died and then truck started running like crap
I went on a brush fire and has some of my blue lights going. I shut it off of course, which I've done before. Well I go to leave and it's dead. I had to get jumped and then it didn't wanna stay running. The A/F was all wacky running major rich. Then it didn't wanna stay running when I let off the gas. I got it to idle and hit the gas a few times and it would die. I let it run a while so hopefully it charged up the battery.
Anyway would a low battery make it run like that? Greg seems to think it would. I'm not so sure about all that. I still gotta run outside in a bit and see how it starts. It was starting funny with the key but with the remote start it fired right up

Took it for a spin and it seems to be ok I guess. Once in a while when coming to a stop the idle will drop lower then usual but it's not dying now. I had an issue before with the idle dropping lower then normal so I can live with it. Hopefully that goes away after a while too
I had this happen to me as well. I accidentally left my parking lights on and killed the battery. It took a trip around the town and out to my buddies place just to get it running right.

The alternators do not produce enough power to run the truck at idle, it's acting like that cause it's trying to run off the battery which is almost dead. Drive it for a while and it will be fine. If it doesn't clear up get the battery tested.
I would check out your whole charging system, put a voltmeter on the battery while the engine is running, you should have a steady 14+ volts charging the battery, anything less or if it fluctuates your alternator is on the way out. I do a lot of night calls so I always leave my blue lights on, but I have leds so they don't draw much power... If you want an extra boost for your light bar, invest in one of the optima batteries.
