Default I bet you guys will like this

I was home last weekend between Ops and I was taking a look under my truck trying to plan how I'm going to handle the chassis cage. I was looking at that amazingly humongous transmission crossmember. I've already trashed one of those because they hang so damn low. I was talking to a guy at work and he steered me over to a local lowrider builder. He told me to get a crossmember with lowering in mind, as it will sit much higher. I ordered this and am going to install it once the Navy lets me be retired again.

I figured those of you who frequent off the beaten path would have a use for that.

I think that's a pretty good idea. Wish they had pics of one installed, curious to see how much space it would actually save (it says up to 60%). Maybe you could post some up when you get yours installed.

Gotta say, i'm kinda suprised that you would order that though Red. You're always talking about fabbing everything yourself. Surely you could easily whip out something like that for far less then the $208 price tag they want for it. Probably could even incorporate more of a skid plate along with the crossmember if you did it yourself. I know that's what I would look to do, just for added protection.

Will that cause excessive stress on driveline components being it will raise the transmission up quite a bit? Ive seen that on stylintrucks.com and decided against it for this very reason...

Yeah I didn't catch that it was made by DJM until I clicked on the link. Those have been around for a while, just never seen one in good detail before.

Its for lowering a pickup, so its obviously gaining clearence, but also adjust the transmission to the right angle when laying close to the ground. Ive researched that thing, and im just curious to see if it works or not

It doesn't raise the transmission, all it is a "slim line" version of the stocker. You run into the same problem on rangers when bagging them.
