Quick question and forgive my ignorance. I have the felpro manifold basket and was wondering what side lays against the heads the all silver part or the side with the blue. My gaskets are not marked. Any help would be appreciated.

Does not matter which side using a Felpro gasket.

My own attempt to replace the plenum plate and gaskets was a failure. So I just decided to go to a mechanic shop and let them redo it properly... so now that all that has been replaced, I still have the same symptoms... the replacement had no true effect in fixing my issue... now I'm just thinking that it was a faulty new catalytic converter that I had installed from the start because I started having the symptoms after installing a new cat... anyone have a similar experience?

Factory is about 1/8" thick, mine is 1/4" thick, the main issue is not so much thickness is that it is steel and not aluminum, therefore the 2 metal expand at different rates which places excessive stress on the gasket, the other issue is that the factory bolts are too long and/or holes are to shallow allowing for improper torque readings, again my plate is 1/4" thick and my bolts will not bottom out in the holes.

I ordered the Hughes kit today. Now I have to decide if I want to try and do it or pay the dealership 450 bucks to do it.

Do it yourself, maybe bribe a buddy with pizza and beer from that $450 you'll save.

I would recommend to wait till after you're done to begin drinking

Are you just replacing the pan & gasket?

You paid too much for the Hughes kit. We've been trying to tell you to get it here and save some $$$ http://www.ebay.com/itm/DODGE-JEEP-A...d741ab&vxp=mtr and to top it all off you'd be buying it from a fellow member.

The only way you're going to learn how to do something is to just do it.
