I was having stalling issues and "clanking" noises with hesitation when I accelerated. The other day I unplugged the eletrical socket off the front O2 sensor and that seemed to fix the issue. So my questiion is: is it the cat that is bad or the sensor... could it be both?

If the sensor is still in the exhaust, and it runs better with it unplugged, that's more'n likely a bad sensor.

I hate to disagree, but, if the plenum is blown and the cat is clogged/clogging, of course it might run better with the o2 unplugged. Time to remove the TB and look and confirm.Other issues may be present, but one step at a time. (before the heads are not cracked).

Hate to burst your bubble but 98% of all 5.2/5.9 magnum series heads come from the factory cracked, they had a genius design that engine.

Besides paying too much for the hughes kit can anyone tell me what the two black peices are that are about 4-6 inches in length? They are on the top right side of the picture on their website . If I knew how to put the pic here I would.
Thanks

Front and back gaskets. You'll need to put a small blob of RTV in each corner where they meet the side gasket to seal them up and prevent an oil leak.

Yelp. You'll also need a tube of black RTV and I recommend a new bypass hose, new TB gasket and new fuel injector o-rings.

I was planning on just taking the fuel line apart and not removing the injectors. Isn't there a valve to seperate the fuel line and leave the injectors in the intake? I may take thte throttle boddy off. It needs cleaning.

You can disconnect the fuel line from the rail, and just leave it in place. Careful with it though...... if you break it, they are fun to find.
