Drown with chems, grab with vice grips, tap lightling on the end of the bolt while trying to turn it either direction. You want to get it to break loose, not break off....

Well i know ya'll haven't heard from me in a long time, but just thought i'd come on this thread to let everyone know i'm finally tackling this job. i've been putting it off and off for a couple years now lol got everything apart and am currently letting the intake bolts soak for the remainder of the day in preparation for its removal. i'll be taking it off tomorrow (hopefully *knocks on wood*)

i'll let ya'll know how it goes

You didn't mention using the blue fire wrench.

i noticed this is suppose to be the "be all end all plenum thread" but there isn't any how-to process or tips and tricks section. the only thing it shows is the symptoms, and some guy's video that doesn't show a lot that needs to be shown. unless you wanna flip though 62 pages to try to find the tip or trick you need or a particular section shown to you, you wont be able to find anything.

just a suggestion to put in a locked sticky of all the how-to and tips and tricks to do this job correctly and the right way.

btw, just cheated the devil, all my bolts came out fully. whew! *knocks on wood* lol

I agree, the original intent of this thread was to identify the problem, not how to fix all the problems that arise from an attempt at replacing it. I've come to dread tell someone to read it.
