Auburn LSD - Limited slip differential
Eaton Truetrac - limited slip diffirential
Powertrax is a locker
I personally like the locker setup better for what i use the truck for.
I also installed 4.88 gear on mine, all new bearings, reverse U-bolt mounts, etc.
It ended up costing me less with this setup (I had my carrier already) then anything else I was looking for.

My locker chirps tires on turns, on pavement under acceleration.
Since our trucks have hubs permanently locked on the front and they use CAD to turn off the front wheel drive I don't think you'll would see that much difference with a front locker installed or not.

I'll have to call the local wrecker to see what an open carrier would cost.

You don't want a spool in the front....... that will make turning corners in 4x4 interesting, to say the least. Seems that lockers up front work better than I would have thought though.

Why not rebuild your posi?

I ran a spool in a Dana 60 years ago and loved the traction i got off that front end, i did take alot to get to go where you wanted but the payoff was well worth the hassle. I can't see any downfall to running the spool in the front of this truck considering it has that wacky shaft on one side, so until it's in 4wd it will be fine and once off road, well, who cares, i'm out to have fun. I only use this truck once or twice a week so going a little crazy seem Okay for me.

I despise stock posi's, mine makes a weird noise when i turn so i'd rather replace with a locker too.

That spool will cause your front driveshaft to turn all the time when you are driving.

If you have a factory open diff and the CAD is disengaged then the front driveshaft does not turn when you are going down the road in 2wd. Maybe I am missing something and you already have a traction aid in the front end.

Not if the CAD is doing what it's supposed to... ring gear is on the passenger side, and thus, doesn't turn when in 2wd
