Default what gears do I have?

just got the truck a month ago, wonderin what gears are in it, pullin 2200rpm in overdrive doin 70, like 3100rpm ish doin 55 with od off,

i dont think its 3.55s at least i hope not.... and it dont seem like 4.10s she climbs everything and pulls right along at idle, my buddy in his f250 with a c6 pulls over 3100rpm at 55 and the 46re and c6 have same 3rd gear ratio 1.0 so.... something after market like 3.92s?

truck was a plow truck (spreader dump box, boss plow) for a auto mall from day one and is all 1 ton except the rear 60 thinkin its a 60 HD though

Should be a sticker under the hood that tells ya, or, get a build sheet from Dodge (directions on how to get are in the faq section)

Most came with 3.55's though, and the 3.92's or 4.10's were optional. (unless it was the Off-Road edition, which came with 4.10's stock.)

the thing is though this truck is a mutt. like in my sig. the whole front axle and suspension and steering is from a 99 1 ton, found out that bc the tie rods and links for a 2001 would no fit.

and it was a plow truck for a dodge dealership so maybe they special ordered it who knows

You have a 2500, most of those especially the V8's had 4.10's.

Your truck is nothing special it is a factory 2500. All 2500 HD's got the dana 60 front. The 3500's are all duallies so you don't have a 1 ton front end.

No HD dana 60's. A dana 60 is a dana 60, spline count does change though.

All steering components are interchangeable even with the 1500's so something else was going on when that steering stuff would not fit.

By 2001 there were no "special" trucks. The last of the oddballs were in the early 2nd gens.

Are you sure you have a front posi? They were not a factory option.
