The flywheel came wiith the 5.9 when I got it. I'm using a 5.2 clutch as well. Are you going to be running the obdII on the yj or just mix in the obdI dash side harness in with the dodge computer?

That's just odd..... did the engine come out of a truck that had a manual trans? Seems to me, if it did, it should already have the 'right' flywheel on there..... as it doesn't seem to, I am real curious what is up with that...... Wonder if the parts store would have a flywheel on the shelf you could have a look at, and see if it matches yours?

It does seem odd. Yeah, the motor came from a manual truck. I'm thinking maybe he mixed up the flywheel with another, because he had a garage full of parts. But then again, it bolted to the motor and the clutch matched it perfectly. But that's a good idea, ill check out a couple parts stores and see if they have any it stock I can compare too. I'm waiting on a call back from a guy that deals with only dodge parts, says he might have a flywheel for a 5.9 that I can get for $45.

Cool. Post pics of the "right" one, if you can.

So after some research, it appears the flywheel I have is for the older style LA 360s. The older style have the same bolt patterns but don't have any notches machined in them for the ckps. Should be getting a new flywheel on Wednesday, I will post comparison pictures when I get it. Hopefully that same day my Jeep should be running with its new-to-me 5.9 magnum!

Btw, thanks HeyYou for the help! Wouldn't have ever found the problem on my own, well maybe after months of head scratching I would have, who knows.

Well I was going to post pics of the the flywheels next to each other, however; my phone didn't save the pictures I took. But they were the same except for notches machined into he new one. I got it installed last night, but my girlfriend threw away my clutch alignment tool, so I've been trying. To get everything lined up and trying to get the tranny mated to the motor. Ill have it done today and hopefully fire it up. But ill post some pictures of the swap.

So got the flywheel in and everything bolted back together and hooked, went to go start it and no go. Still not getting spark. The ignition coil is putting out a constant 12v in the run position and during crank. What should I be looking for now. Before I put in the flywheel the coil would get no voltage during crank. Would it be bad ignition coil, or the ckps? I'm just out of ideas here.

Also, I just made a test light and checked the signal wire for the ignition coil, and its a constant ground. Shouldn't it cycle and cause the light to blink? If so, then that would mean the ckps isn't reading/sending signal like it should... I think? What about the camshaft sensor in the distributor, would that cause it to be a constant ground if it was bad? So I'm guessing that one of these sensors isn't sending sgnal like it should thus the pcm isn't sending signal for spark essentially.
