my one question is will a 14x4 or 14x5 fit under the hood of ours?

Too tall. The air cleaner is going to sit back underneath the cowl, so three inches is about all you are going to get there.

Not without a body lift. A 3" tall filter is a snug fit as it is with a .5" drop base.

No need for a 4 to 5" tall filter anyway, your truck will never see use of it.



If a Shelby Cobra with a 427 big block can make use of a 10x2, then your 360 small block will be just fine with a 14x3

Run a 467 Big block with a 10" x 3" with a sock, 6800 rpm, 785 HP on the dyno with no problems on dirt tracks. It was however isolated from all engine heat and drew air from a scoop in the hood.


On the trucks, going to go back to stock type setup B/C for my uses the open filter sucks up too much dirt and engine heat in the summer and water and snow/salt slush in the winter. Just my experience.

i got spectre its nice i get alot of air. can hear the sucking under the hood in the cab. its all about wut you like and wut you want. i like the 14x3 but in florida to much hot air. so i went with spectre wityh the heat shield box. 94 from amazon with free shipping
