Default Grrr new problem now, leaking axle fluid in drum

Ok well yesterday I pulled my drums off while I had my wheels off and I look on the passengers side drum and pull it off and the rear shoes and the inside of the drum are covered in axle lube.. WTH I replaced the axle gaskets and wheel seals about 3-4 months ago... Is this a sign of another wheel seal gone bad? I can get a pic later if you guys need to see it

I would actually like to see the pic. We recently took my GFs Jeep in for an alignment and they said that passenger side read axle was leaking and recommended replacing it. Would you be willing to do a walk through on axle gasket and wheel seal?

Yeah but im pretty sure a ram is differetn then a jeep. On the jeep you have to pull teh rear diff cover to get the c-clip in order to pull the axle out on a ram 2500 its 8 bolts and the axle slides out

Did you lube the new seal up good before you installed it? If the brakes are contaminated with axle lube, time to replace them. As it is a full floating rear, changing all that out isn't really to much of an ordeal. Just kinda smelly......

Nope. Installing them dry pretty much guarantees they will leak again. What I usually do, is just stick my finger in the axle lube, and make sure the entire contact surface of the seal has some laying in there. THEN install it. I have never had a come-back when doing it that way. (and I have done a LOT of them........)

+10^^^ on what HeyYou said, but something to check is the vent tube, I have seen them pluged and then the diff builds up pressuse and causes a leak past the seals.

ok well it was all dry unbtil when I looked yesterday and the only thing that came to mind was when the truck fell off the jack stands it landed on that side and so I just figured it leaked out that side. But imma just do new seals again since it wasnt that hard to do them
