Throttle body mod
I have been thinking about grabbing a spare tb and doing the poorman tb mod on it and it seems pretty straight forward, but are there any dos/donts that I need to know before I try it?
I just bought one on ebay for $95 and if you send back your old one you get something like $20 or $25 back, and I could never do the quality of work that was done,it came fully machined and polished up, if you did want to attempt this on your own I would think that you would need bigger butterflys? (it also comes with a new "s" bolt, tb gasket and instructions to help your pcm relearn how to run with the new tb) my opinion is to not try it yourself as you might wreck your tb and have to buy one anyways
here you guys go

You going to use a milling machine?
Do get the throttle body level and centered before you bore.
Don't remove too much metal.
Remember 50mm bore for a 5.2l motor and 52mm for a 5.9l motor.
With the 5.2l throttle body you can adjust a screw that is covered by a knock out to get the throttle blades to close all the way. If you don't then you'll have a high idle because of too much air getting past the blades.
