Post Gas Mileage

So i have been surfing arowned looking at almost every thread about gas milage and i still have not go the answer i need. I have an intake, i drive with the rpms under 2500. I have changed my oil to synthetic and i have e3 sparkplugs in. I have a high flow cat and high flow glasspack. Is there anything else i can do to make it better?

ummmm.... what are you getting in city? and highway?
2wd or 4wd?
big mud tires, or close to stock?
is your speedo/odometer correct?

w/4wd about the best you'll do is 13-14 city and 16-17-18 highway at 55mph.
1-2 mpg worse with big soft mud grips.

tune up. fix plenum. stay in OD as much as possible. drive easy. go downhill as much as possible. coast a lot.

what about electric fans? also you might be able to get a bit better fuel economy if you can turn off your daytime running lights but you might not be able to legally turn them off. i think in Canada anything 91 and newer has to have daytime running light but it is not really enforced.

I have seen that the e fans help alot but i always see them for about 400 or 300. Is there any cheap on that will help. Or a place with good ones for a cheaper price. And i live in new jersey, i only need to turn my lights on when its raining

the plenum fix is a plate that seperates the lifter valley and the intake. it is bad to leak and let oil get into the intake which drops gas mileage alot. i fixed mine and now i get 17 avg. was 13 mpg!!

Easy? Well, depend on if any bolts break. More time consuming than anything else. Plenum plate bolts to the bottom of the intake manifold, so, manifold has to come off for this repair.

Well what do you advise to do the Plenum or an e fan?

Plenum first.

Case you're wondering, that thread is stickied at the top of the page in the 2nd gen tech section.
