Drop the pan and jiggle the governor solenoid, if it wiggles at all, it's in the wrong channel.

Ahhhh man...gimme a break! I'm old....and I wasn't going to point out that it was aim! (I re-read that thread lst night after you referenced it also)

Cna't do it today..one of my employees decided to get married while I need to be working on this truck. No sense of respecting the bosses time with this younger generation any more.

gdstock, I used the 1/4" travel on the front band lever and 3/8" travel on the rear band lever method. Worked allright for me so far. I didn't have an inch pound torque wrench though. I probably would have followed the manual instructions had I had the proper tool.

Tomorrow I will check the governor solenoid. I hope it is as simple as being in the wrong groove. Then I will recheck the bands and tighten up like you did. Is yours shifting OK? Did you install the Sonnax Sure Cure in yours?

Did you have reverse when the solenoid was not seated correctly? Just curious, as I suspect he has other issues.

Mine's shifting outstanding. I did install the sure cure. I just tightened the adjusters down to where theres almost no travel, then backed them off until I reached the desired travel.
