Any partic reason why only those years? I thought 96 to 2002 fit out of dingo, ram or jeep fit as long as 4x4 and 5.2 or 5.9

Just curious. Found a rebuild for 1000 plus core today 3 month 6000 mile warr. is That good or can I find better?

Thanks again

Some of the sensors, and their associated connectors changed over the years. The newer trans would physically bolt right up, but, the electrical wouldn't be quite right, and you would have issues.

A grand for a QUALITY rebuild is a good price. If they have to ship it to you, I would pass, as if you have trouble.... nothing like being able to walk into the shop, and talk t someone face to face. If you want to order one online, spend a bunch more, and get one from a company that has an established reputation.

What he said already . You might be ok with a 96 or 97, but it's a lot of work, just to find out you need to do more.

Wouldnt the easiest way to tell a 46re from 727 or 904 or 46rh would be the eletrical connector on the side? The 46re being 8 pin and the others being a 2 or 3 pin connector?

remember guys, the 46r(H) (hydraulic) is for the earlier models, the 46r(E) is for the electronic version. I think ‘98 was the cut year from hydro to electric
