Does your truck have the block heater option? If so, and you use it, 10w-30 is fine.

Otherwise, if it regularly gets below 0 in your area during the winter, 5w-30 would be better.

Synthetic or not is completely up to you. I do it because, from what I've read and seen, I think its better for the engine. Not saying dino (regular) oil is bad, just saying I think synthetic is better. Can also go longer on oil changes. However, it is more expensive.

Check out the FAQ section for opinions on synthetic vs regular oil.

-30c is like only 22 degrees fahrenheit , 10w-30 would be more than adequate.

Not unless you have the block heater plugged in. If you are using that, 10w-30 is fine. It regularly gets subzero here in SD during the winter, but I have the block heater.

Alberta, Canada.

I have a block heater and can plug in at home and at work...but there may be the odd time she has to be cold started....

Should I stick with 5w30?
