serpatine belt squealing like crazy
Ok guys so the other nite I wrecked the truck. I drove down a street sort of flooded being a jack ***. Use totdrive threw all kinds of **** in my wrangler but it also has 35 inch mud terrains and not bald *** 265s on the rear of an empty bed. lol. So the truck slid out i hit an embankment broke the radiator, trans cooler, fan shrowd, serpatine belt was in a million pieces and I had a branch just sitting in my engine bay that went threw the grill and took all this out. I replaced everything yesterday minus the grill with junk yard parts. Even the serpatine belt because I wanted to get it fixed cheap because I heard ticking and had alot of smoking when I got her home the other nite I wasnt sure if major damage was done or not. Well everything seems cool now but the belt is squealing like ****! sounds likea piece driving down the road now. Do u think its just I need to go buy a new belt or do u think its something else? tighten something? none of the pulleys seem to be bent or anything. Thanks

Wait a second...
You drove it home after taking out the radiator, serpentine belt, and trans cooler with a branch through the grille!???????
WTF mate?
I'm going to assume you were very close to home when this happened. Don't tell me if you weren't.
As zman stated, check your tensioner with the appropriate wrench/ratchet to make sure it is firm through it's entire range of motion. If you end up buying a new belt, get a Dayco. They seem to run the quietest in our trucks.
Oh, and DO NOT use belt dressing.

use I bought a dayco belt. I just have to put it on. Today was a day of being hung over all day so I didnt feel like doing ****. I was about a mile or so from the house. truck was smoking like a bitch and i had no power steering. I had to make about a really sharp turn also so that consisted of backing up and going forward about 10 x.
